Meet the pack
Hi, I’m Kelsey Scott-Zelek, a dog lover and passionate advocate for dog-friendly travel, balanced training, and conservation. I live in Austin, Texas with my husband and three dogs.
I started Urban Bird Dogs because I wanted to share my love of dogs and the outdoors with others. As we grew our pack by two German Shorthairs, we began traveling all over the US to get our bird dogs on as many wild birds as possible. As we traveled, we discovered so many incredible dog-friendly cities and states that we felt it’d be an injustice not to share our dog-ventures with you all.

Women supporting women
As a woman new to the world of hunting, I’ve become extremely passionate about helping other women get started in the world of bird dogs, and learning as much as I can about conservation so that the birds we’re hunting will be around for our children to also enjoy. I believe that anyone can learn to train or hunt with their bird dog, regardless of their experience or background; they just have to have the courage to start.
I’m excited to continue sharing my journey with you all, and helping more people explore the great outdoors with their dogs. Let’s create a community where women can learn from each other, and support one another in all of our bird dog adventures.

Fun Facts About Me
1. I am the QUEEN of FOMO, especially when it comes to traveling to new places.
2. I trained my 4 year old rescue dog to be my service dog for my autoimmune conditions.
3. I am what’s known as an, “Austin Unicorn”. This means that I am one of the rare few living in Austin that is actually from Austin.
